Ask Me Something
This guy has it wrong. We should be supporting any pay-options that come into the market. Not flat out agree with but at least support the idea and the steps being made in the right direction. How many people have only resorted to illegal downloading because the files they wanted were not being ported to new technologies due to out-dated practices that are continued to be upheld by the big media companies? I understand this still does not make it right but if a company is willing to try releasing content to me in a format that is closer to what I am looking for, I say right on. This particular “version” of the these “unspoken negotiations” may not be the final ones but hey at least those guys are sitting down at the table to try and fix the problem of pirates vs. lawyers. It is wrong for people to steal the material of others. I agree with this. But I also think it much worse for a company to seek profits over the advances of technology. The model of charging users on a per-content basis is on it’s way out. Imagine how many less “googles”, “tumblrs”, and “amazons” there would be in the world if the founders had to pay for each website they wanted to view. Up until the past few years the amount of media that was available on the internet was minimal. This is changing. No one canĀ stop this. The smart companies will adapt… and quickly. Those are the companies we want to support as they are the ones that are moving with technology not trying to fight it.And my hope is that these are the compaines like Google and Tumblr, the companies that were founded by those who used the internet they way it should be used. The people were able to navigate to any piece of information to teach them exactly what they wanted to learn. The internet has changed education happens, this is a good thing.
